"context debt" is a great phrase. I would even say: the definition of "too fast" is "in a way that fakes shared context or ignores the absence of shared context"... otherwise it's just fast! twitter.com/IkkyusDen/stat…

in this model, when people are able to build trust fast, it's generally because there already was a lot of shared context and it just needed to be revealed, or because the relevant context was able to be established quickly.

there are signs you can look for for whether you're building up oodles of fake context or not (not perfect but substantially) a few:

a few signs you're building fake trust with someone: 1. things seem chill a lot of the time but disagreements aren't actually getting resolved/funny 2. you find yourself saying "I know you don't mean/want [what they seem to]" 3. high variance between good & bad times what else?

also "intimacy" in this context is I think largely about what you expect of one another, which could be about life logistics like living together, or could be about intertwingling your meaning-making and expecting the other person to make sense to you deeply
