Fighting a macOS window-focus bug across desktops

are other mac users having this issue? how did you fix it? I am on day two, I'm pretty damn sure this isn't due to some weird extension I installed (I mostly haven't even gotten to any yet)

okay by far the most annoying thing about this OS is that when I switch between two full-screen-workspaced browser windows, the focus stays on the old one! so I switch then see a tab I don't need, hit cmd+w and it fucking closes out a tab I can't even see! this MUST be a bug 🤬

thought it went away when I upgraded OS version to 10.14.2 but apparently not!!! godfuckingdamnit this issue is BACK what the fuck WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK HOW DID APPLE GET SO MANY THINGS RIGHT AND WINDOW MANAGEMENT IS SUCH SHIT

seriously I will return this fucker if I can't fix this, this is intolerable it has been vexing me all day and just overall making me feel totally not at home here happy to learn new hotkeys but most hotkeys should NEVER be affecting a window that is not even onscreen

literally this bug resulted in me accidentally closing out the Apple Support chat window while I was trying to resolve this bug do serious mac users use fullscreen apps and multiple desktops?!?!?!?!?!? how the fuck is nobody else encountering this??? my macbook is new!

THIS IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF BULLSHIT THAT PROMPTED ME TO LEAVE LINUX FOR MAC, AND I'M GETTING MORE OF IT SOONER?!?!?

chatted with apple support, they tried getting me to reboot into safe mode which was actually a bit of a red herring for 2 reasons: 1. in safe mode, I didn't have access to Brave, the browser where the bug was occurring 2. the bug doesn't show up when the computer first boots

so back in normal boot, waiting for the bug to show up again so I can figure out what's going on. maaaaybe it's just a Brave thing, tho safari and finder also behave weirdly if you use a hotkey before the desktop-switching animation finishes (they don't switch focus til then!!)

okay the bug is back!! and it's also happening when I use ctrl+arrow to switch desktops is there a way to speed up this animation to near-instant? that also seems vital for even non-bug behavior of being able to rapidly switch then do stuff keyboard-wise
