Screenshotting insults, worldview clashes, and charitable replies

couple months ago I tried pointing out to someone who had screenshotted a bunch of racist insults against them, that they gave them 400k views idk how I found the original tweet but clearly it was WAY outside of the kind of culture we have around here. all responses against me

like I guess it's interesting to me that if I tweeted that in a @visakanv-familiar scene, people would be like "ah of course, oops" then there are contexts where if I tweeted the exact same reply I bet people would be like "huh, never thought of it that way" but here? hell naw.

one of the replies was about how the OP was fully justified in tweeting what she did if you're seeing things in terms of social reality, entitlements, etc, then ofc my move would function as calling her out, not just pointing at inherent consequences probably part of the issue

interestingly that same person also referred to me as gaslighting her I guess implied by my tweet could be that she shouldn't seek validation for her views? ahh or that I was insinuating that her intent was to spread the racist views? I did say "inadvertently" but who's checking

once again, I am being exceedingly charitable with people who I will in this case charitably call curmudgeons

1) you're a friendly and thoughtful curmudgeon! 2) there's gonna be curmudgeons, if I can find the signal in their noise, more signal for me 😎 twitter.com/lumpenspace/st…

this is how I roll; I like taking perspectives and getting a sense of what worldviews look like from the inside (idk if I'd quite say "evil" in this case to be clear)

you're a high-decoupler  I'm a guy who tries empathizing with why evil makes sense from its own perspective   ...we are not the same.

also to some extent ofc I'm looking at the view of the psychofauna, vs as an individual replier's experience which probably feels mostly like contraction and fury and fear and negation
