@Malcolm_Ocean @jack_meditates That's nice. Once you post that tweet, I'll respond with a need for help :) Have an idea/product that I think would benefit from your feedback.

@snarayan @jack_meditates @antar_app? I like the premise. Downloaded it and had a brief look tonight. First thought was "I hate all of these avatar faces". Also it kept putting a mask or hat back on when I made an unrelated change. No avatar (just color) would be way better.

*bong rip* what if… the pronoun revolution that we need is… a zeroth-person pronoun for parts of your personality…? 𝘄𝗲 : 𝗜 :: 𝗜 : ___ hit me with your best ideas

@snarayan @jack_meditates @antar_app (Linked that tweet since it came to me when I was trying to dialogue with a part, not in Antar but in my journal) In Antar I didn't get to making any parts because I feared that would have subjected me to another godawful avatar experience. App has potential; this = raw feels.

@snarayan @jack_meditates @antar_app Ummm also idk what kind of research you've done but definitely check out Dick Schwartz's work on Internal Family Systems if you haven't already, plus umm this old blog by a friend of mine who made a bunch of self-facets. sovereignsblog.tumblr.com

@snarayan @jack_meditates @antar_app Here's the post where they announce it and introduce the cast: agentyduck.blogspot.com/2016/04/the-pe…

@snarayan @jack_meditates @antar_app I might as well link to a similar experiment I did from around the same time; I also did some journally dialoguing between the parts for the next month or two, but not nearly as extensively as my friend. malcolmocean.com/2016/04/introd…

@snarayan @jack_meditates @antar_app There was also a guy who did a really wild experiment with this years back, but I forget the link. It was super wild though - each character had to sign in and out, and they each had a system for getting points while in their mode - so probably not central to your research.

@snarayan @jack_meditates @antar_app Oh and obviously if you haven't looked at @MyReplika you'll want to. Plus chapter 16 of I am a Strange Loop by Hofstadter, which is a deep dive on this phenomenon 👇 (you don't need to have read the rest of the book)

When you get to know someone well, you are essentially making an elegant little avatar of them to play with inside the virtual mini-universe that is your mind.

@snarayan @jack_meditates @antar_app @MyReplika Okay, that's my braindump of relevant things that I think anyone seriously making a go at building the app you're building would want to have at least a passing familiarity with (you can decide which ones to dig deeper into). Hope this is indeed helpful! I enjoyed it.

@snarayan @jack_meditates @antar_app @MyReplika And lmk when I can use Antar without being disturbed by the avatars. Again, simply removing them altogether and/or allowing me to insert images— —hell, just use an emoji-picker. I can see value in having avatars as well, but I think it's a distraction at this phase.
