I'm like a VC but instead of investing money & getting money as returns, I invest enthusiasm & design perspective, and get satisfaction & relationships as returns.

V mentioned "my domino meme" Enjoying the kind of reusable blockness of it even in the out-loud convo.

One thing most ppl don't realize about starting a small biz: Say you have $16k and need $2k/mo to live on. That's 8mo runway. Say that after 3mo, biz makes $1k/mo. Not sustainable yet, but now you have 10mo runway! ((16-2*3)/(2-1)=10) Not-enough revenue is still real money 🤑

whoa... are "curious" & "curate" etymologically related...? (inspired by thinking about @visakanv's threads that are him livetweeting wikipedia wanderings) turns out... yes! also to "care"

(which is also reminding me of Visa and others asking me to turn this into a blog post... I'll schedule a showtime for that!)

@QiaochuYuan @visakanv My latest frame for this: everyone is basically living in a dream mashup of their current external situation and their old emotional meanings. Like dreaming you're at school but it's also on a boat somehow. & as in dreams, somehow the weirdness of this mashup goes unnoticed
