Mmmm, just finished listening to this & enjoyed it. Feeling part of this convospace with all of you gentlemen. This thread = some highlights & thoughts, with some vague segues but not one coherent train of thought. @voiceclub_ @peternlimberg @collinofzion @JaredJanes @cognazor

Tuning into the centre w/ @peternlimberg @collinofzion @JaredJanes & @cognazor Wishing you all the energy and resilience to be of service to yourselves, loved ones, and broader community. soundcloud.com/voiceclub_podc…

I loved at the beginning how Tim opened by saying something like "first and foremost, this conversation is among those of us who are having it; sharing it with the internet comes after, and we can all decide what makes sense there"

@cortexfutura @dthorson @tim_adalin @voiceclub_ @cognazor @JaredJanes I think that this resonates deeply with the "work with the garage door open" aesthetic. Screenshot below is from @andy_matuschak notes.andymatuschak.org/About_these_no… Tweet below is @eriktorenberg: twitter.com/eriktorenberg/…

Reminds me of 2h19m40 in this convo: Making Sense of Sensemaking: Daniel Schmachtenberger, Jamie Wheal, Jordan Hall youtu.be/8Es_WTEgZHE?t=… They're talking about the problems with broadcast media... on YouTube, and @jgreenhall untangles the attendant paradox.

Speaking of paradoxes, back in the original podcast on VoiceCraft, there's a remark about the conversation being therapeutic, in contrast with being more tactical. Based on my experience, it seems that both-at-once is very very possible. Tho starting separate may help bootstrap.

Which reminds me of when, at the Bio-Emotive retreat at @MonasticAcademy last summer, I proposed a convo intended to be both {business meeting} & {we-space} simultaneously & some people thought that was weird. All business meetings need to be we-spaces!

I continue to enjoy & value @BonnittaRoy's distinction between a "We" and an "Us": - the former is a subject, an agent, a team that can do things - the latter is an object that is acted upon source: Emerge: A Source Code Analysis of Collective Action 💞 anchor.fm/emerge/episode…

I noticed when I listened to BothAnd+Emerge mashup podcast awhile ago, I couldn't remember whether Jared or Jason had the deeper voice (it's Jason) and so found it hard to know who was talking. This time, I intentionally paid really close attention during intros, & did okay!

Going back to the thing at the top... this is an example of where it might've been helpful to be more conscious that there were other people listening, who may be less familiar with who's who in this 5-person convo. Then eg saying each other's names more: "Yeah, Collin, I agree"

At @liminal_agency, we record all of our convos, & there's been a learn process re how to simultaneously be very present with the people who are live as well as those who may be listening later. eg saying "you" in 3+ person convo is ambiguous to recording listeners (just audio)

Towards the end, there's some reflection on the need for a word other than "IRL" or "meatspace" to point at the space of social interaction that isn't mediated by information technology (arguably includes letter-writing) @byudkowsky proposes "bodyspace" agentyduck.blogspot.com/2016/08/bodysp…
