Hunting for a bass singer and building a collaborative arrangement

hmmmm... have I a friend on here who can sing a D2? it's not that low, but it's low. @MasterTimBlais seems like more of a baritone, but maybe one of his pals, like the guy who sings Pegasi in the Aladdin Exoplanetology medley... hmm.... (obvi could just retune, but...)

@this_is_silvia argh hm I am confused! I recorded an epic demo of the chorus in 5 part harmony in G but then I notice that I seem to want to sing the melody in the key of D (and it sounds way better in my voice) but I can't hit the bass harmony in D! 😣

(I can technically barely emit the 73Hz frequency that is a D2, but it barely qualifies as singing, unless it's a week when I have a cold or have been talking nonstop at a conference for days or something)

okay I have figured out how to pitch shift audio sections in bitwig. my voice singing in G pitched down to D sounds kinda like I'm breathing sulfur hexafluoride 😂

was all stoked to make a lil project on bandlab.com (online DAW) for folks to add their harmonies to but they only support 1-6 as numerators for the time signature, and this piece is in 12/8 can probably set it up as 4/4 with a triplet feel but @BandLab fix plzzz

Okay I'm making a bandlab for this. I've added @m_ashcroft & @this_is_silvia (violinist!) via email @cameronconcarne & @MasterTimBlais can I get your email addresses or bandlab usernames? here's the demo kind of a mess 🙃 I'm still very new at this! bandlab.com/malcolmocean/i…

I've included a midi bit of the bass part (also here's sheet music lol) and also the recording of me breathing sulfur hexafluoride this is the only part I spent any time arranging; the many others there were totally improvised in a few takes

the tracks in there are exported from bitwig, where they sound way better with a ton of reverb, but I left the exports clean for idk reasons (also the thing SHOULD be in 12/8 time @ 78bpm (per quarter note) but since @BandLab doesn't do 12/8 time it's 4/4 @ 52 bpm instead)

also also there's a part in the bandlab labelled "silly fake descant" which was a bit that instead of tuning *down* a fourth to get from G to D, I tuned it UP A FIFTH, so it sounds a bit alvin-and-the-chipmunksy 😂 cool notes tho! ...just needs a soprano to sing it instead
