Search engines with no way to give feedback

Just googled "7 things i teach students", seeking article "Seven-Lesson Schoolteacher". No leads. Then I recalled where I saved it in @RoamResearch Unnerving that google has no place to report "here's what I was looking for with this query". No learning.

"Without feedback, any system goes insane."

The lack of feedback from users is a helpful but incomplete explanation for this 👇 (deeper issue is the things it *is* using as feedback, and gameability of those)

Every week Google search becomes worse and worse and we’re so used to it nobody even talks about it anymore.

Of course, you can't simply allow me to declare anyone searching for "7 things i teach students" should get this article. That would be a race to the bottom faster than you could say . But I should be able to say "hey google, *I* care about this article and may look in future"

And moreover, when something like this 👇 happens, there's no way to tell the app that it is completely misunderstanding my query.

@SwiftOnSecurity I hate it when it gets results not even including several words I typed. WHY DO YOU THINK I PUT THEM FOR

Guess I gotta vote with my feet. Got other engines? I've sampled DDG in Brave's incognito mode and its results are some okay, sometimes complete randomness.

@DuckDuckGo what is going on with these results? The first two make sense, but the third is clearly not what I'm looking for (though I guess if I'd searched "Dorian name meaning" this week it might be relevant) And nowhere on the Jessica Jones wiki page is "Vanessa" or "meaning"

Also while the exact title "The Seven-Lesson Schoolteacher" should be enough to find you this article even with a garbage search engine, here's the link anyway. It's good shit. swaraj.org/multiversity/g…
