I went to a Catholic mass for xmas eve, out of curiosity, and I felt like I could tell they were worshipping at least 3 distinct Gods—all as the Father; I don't mean the trinity. Roughly: - Yahweh - Jupiter - the actual singular largest agentic shape / force underneath it all
it was really weird and unpleasant, tbh, to watch this elaborate dance to pretend these are all the same thing to the point of pretending there aren't even different things being made-same a kind of spiritual vertigo
if I had a transcript of the service I could try to annotate where I felt like each distinct entity was being referenced, but it might be hard, it was in the shapes being evoked by the moment, not per se the words
