I think this could be a brilliant performance art project that would also be meaningful and helpful if done well like a fire that is kept going forever, but for conversation ...but there are many challenges.
one challenge is that you'd need... minimum 6 people in different timezones doing it full-time+ (8h/day not including weekends) more people means less time per person but also means less continuity, more catching people up. but could get v good at that.
another challenge is like... moderating who gets to join for what period of time if you had the right medium, I could imagine something where people could share something in chat, then be invited to speak
huh. you could use current AI tech to like, digest the last 1-30h of conversation into a summary on the scale of 30s-5mins, and the summary could vary depending on who is receiving it—like different things would be relevant to me than to you
honestly a funny technical challenge would just be... allowing people to not be at a desk all day but out in the sun, walking, etc... without that messing up the audio quality too badly. good enough mics might fix it. with this level of commitment, worth paying $$$ for core ppl
if this were going well, it could be a lovely context for co-what-now'ing people could come in with what's feeling alive for them, then stick around to sense-make or go off to work on their project, feeling how it's plugged in with the whole malcolmocean.com/2022/05/aiming…
