Turning a favourite tweet into a blog post and back into a thread

After many repeated requests*, one of my best tweets (so far) is now a blog post! *about half of which were @visakanv😜 malcolmocean.com/2021/06/dream-…

the original Classic tweet 🎩

@QiaochuYuan @visakanv My latest frame for this: everyone is basically living in a dream mashup of their current external situation and their old emotional meanings. Like dreaming you're at school but it's also on a boat somehow. & as in dreams, somehow the weirdness of this mashup goes unnoticed

I could've sworn that in addition to him DM'ing me about it multiple times Visa also tweeted at me about it but I haven't found anything except this: (on which note, maybe good timing for a salon on this? @TheAnnaGat shall I email you?)

@Malcolm_Ocean @TheAnnaGat @nibrasibn @ElodesNL @m_ashcroft @liekovarpio @pragueyerrr @tasshinfogleman @interintellect_ I actually do my salons by thinking “what do I wanna learn from other people” 😂 as always I’ll tell you you should keep fleshing out your dream-mashup idea. so you should do a salon about it and invite people to tell you their stories so you have more detail, resolution

@visakanv link us up with your tweets about the importance of encouraging people to expand on their best ideas

I've also turned the whole post into a thread, so if you want to get seduced into it tweet-by-tweet rather than opening up a tab and forgetting about it for weeks, I've got you covered:

turning the post into a thread was actually really helpful for my editing process! prompted a few new points of clarity, added punchiness, and spotting some typos

speaking of typos, here's a list of neologisms in this blog post (that I added to dict while writing it) - transformational - reconsolidation - unworkably - learnings words not recognized by another dictionary but I'd already added them to mine: - sensemaking - ongoingly - grok
