welp, they finally switched from twitter.com to x.com on desktop realized it when my dozen userstyles broke
sad about this. twitter is the superior name. X doesn't make sense, it's empty, it sounds too much like other words, you can't search for it. it has no metaphor:
like facebook trying to call itself "meta", it's also overreach. nobody gets to own a letter, or a prefix (ex-). piss off. big brands take advantage of media claiming neutrality, and being willing to call them what they call themselves. fight it
just checked all the other one-letter domain names q.com redirects to quantumfiber.com which sells internet. they own, but don't use, the one-letter domain z.com claims to be "Japan's #1 Internet Group". I think it's just the oldest (1999). all others don't exist.
huh, interesting, z.com claims that only 3 single-char domain names exist—apparently all the highest-scoring scrabble letters, for some reason I'm having a dinner party now—bye! if you're inspired to research the history of this, share it in replies :)
