I'm watching Don't Look Up and it's such a great example of people urgently wasting time.
Also very striking in terms of the particular nature of astronomy as a solved clockwork science, in which it would make sense to have extremely confident predictions of default events 6 months in the future, which doesn't hold for almost any other kind of disaster.
omfg I guessed exactly what the 2nd after-credits scene would be just from a tiny mouseover thumbnail that was basically a blob of color
