can you spot the fake-knowing? I'll put it in the next tweet

"I know we made the right decision ending it as neither of us will change our mind but I am so sad and scared one day I might and I'll have lost him for nothing" "I know [...] neither of us will change our mind" "but I am [...] scared one day I might" = you don't know you won't!
if you KNEW, if you KNEW with your whole bodymindheartwombsoul, that you didn't want kids, this would not be a hard decision to make instead, you have a desire to have kids. it's hiding somewhere. you also have reasons not to. and currently you are rationalizing the desire away
there's a thing it would feel like to know with your whole bodymindheartwombsoul that this is not the moment for you to bring a child into the world and if you have that, you don't make torn up posts on reddit about how you know it's the right thing to do but want reassurance
to me this reddit confession reads about as clearheaded as a man writing on /r/christian about how he fears he might be gay but he knows that he made the right decision by marrying a woman uhh bruh your ideology made that decision, not you
who is this "I" who knows? and who is the "I" arguing with?
can this "I" tell for themselves that this is true? or are they taking somebody's word for it? are they justifying it elsewhere? malcolmocean.com/2023/11/i-can-…
oh wait lol I wrote a version of this thread already in response to a guy writing a letter to the son he was deciding not to have for similar supposedly-noble reasons that also showed to me clear signs of rationalization hiding lack of integration
to be clear: I'm glad these people aren't accidentally having kids while they're infected with these misanthropic memes, as I think that would be bad both for the kid directly and for their ability to eventually untangle the meme & come to true peace with having-kids-or-not!
