Okay, so top of my queue is a thread about GCI + meta-team. That would be basically talking about how the GCI team is holding this year's GCI as being within this vision that I've been exploring around self-energizing collaboration.
Started drafting this tweetstorm a few days ago but I keep getting distracted... re-reading my draft now... Yeah, the draft feels like it's missing something. I was really excited about that tweetstorm a month ago but now it feels weird. What have I lost touch with?
....hm... the meta-team vision itself has been evolving, plus I haven't published everything I've written & thought about it (which itself is now partially out of date bc aforementioned evolution) but there's also something else: money.
I haven't in that draft yet, mentioned money, and it's actually the most manifest level on which there's something explicit to say about the GCI & meta-team vision being connected: most of the revenue from these GCIs is going to go into investing in future meta-team projects! 🤩
I think that's been hard to talk about for a few reasons, one of the main ones being that we really don't know much about what that looks like yet! I come from the "nebulous emergent group coherence sense-making" school of decision-making around money, so it's all still TBD TBH.
Us being able to do that is itself pretty exciting! There's now a core team of ~4 of us who organize & run this each year, and we've done various fluid things in relation to the money dimension in the past, and have been able to improvise effectively in relation to that.
(gotta go do stuff, gonna hit send on this much, will finish thread later)
